Filament Nonwoven Geotextile

01 Should we specify filament or staple-fiber nonwoven geotextile?

Filament geotextiles are commonly selected where higher tensile performance and long-term durability are required; staple-fiber products are economical for general separation, filtration and protection. The final choice must consider strength, puncture, permeability, opening size, installation damage and the project standard.

02 How are filtration and water permeability verified?

Mass per unit area alone is not enough. The design should specify characteristic opening size, normal-to-plane flow or permittivity, tensile and puncture properties according to the soil gradation and hydraulic conditions. We can match factory test items to the tender specification and provide batch records.

03 Which tensile properties matter for road and pavement works?

Specify tensile strength and elongation in both machine and cross-machine directions, plus puncture or CBR resistance where required. For pavement maintenance, confirm whether the function is separation, filtration, stress relief or reinforcement, because the appropriate product and installation method differ.

04 What are the key installation points for a geotextile filter layer?

Prepare a smooth subgrade, remove sharp objects, place the fabric without excessive tension, use the specified overlap or sewn seam, and prevent contamination before covering. Construction traffic should not run directly on exposed fabric unless the method statement allows it. We can provide roll planning and laying guidance.

05 What mass per unit area and roll sizes are available?

The factory can produce a range of mass per unit area and roll widths within the capability stated on each product page. Custom roll length, width, wrapping, labels and container plans are available subject to production review and minimum order quantity. Performance requirements should take priority over gram weight alone.

06 What affects the service life and quality consistency of geotextiles?

Polymer quality, UV exposure, chemical and biological environment, installation damage, confinement and drainage conditions all matter. Factory production control, batch testing and correct storage before installation support consistent performance. For exposed applications, request a specific UV assessment rather than assuming buried-product durability.
