Third-Party Geosynthetics Inspection: More Than Sampling One Roll Before Loading

Break the inspection plan into document review, representative sampling, laboratory testing, packing checks and loading surveillance.

Third-party inspection adds value only when the intervention point and sampling population are defined. Sampling one convenient roll after the order is packed may not represent the contracted lots or verify production traceability.

Project action list

What the procurement or project team should do next

  • Issue an inspection and test plan before production

  • Define hold, witness and review points

  • State who may release the goods

  • Link inspector photos and reports to roll IDs

Factory material testing
01

Before production

Approve the specification, applicable methods, lot definition, sampling frequency, laboratory and release authority. Identify points that require buyer or inspector attendance.

02

During sampling and testing

The inspector should select samples from a defined population and seal, label and document them. The report must identify methods, units, results and represented batches.

03

Before shipment release

Reconcile approved reports with roll ranges, labels, quantities and packing. Container supervision cannot replace missing production or sampling evidence.
